These are not the movies I would consider disturbing for children…..it was brought to you by http://blogs.babycenter.com/mom_stories/7-most-disturbing-kids-movies/
This is what I have to say about the choices they made……
1.Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
While I can see why a mother would pick this movie, I think this movie is wonderful. When I was a child, though, it would have creeped me out. Especially when Violet turned into a blueberry. It is a lesson for children everywhere….when a grown-up says not to touch something for your safety, you better listen to them!
Even though it is one of the classics, I don’t think little kids should see this movie. Unless you want your kids to have nightmares and want to have them in your bed every night or all the lights on in the house making it very hard for you to sleep!!
2. Dumbo
I agree. I am 33 years old and I still can’t watch this movie. I think its more because it makes me sad, like when Dumbo’s mom is prisoned, but it does have a very disturbing element. The Pink Elephants on Parade is definately creepy.
3. Babe 2: Pig In the City
I will never watch this movie, so I can’t really tell you my opinion on it. But in the web site, they say how some animals are starved, beaten, and hung by their necks from a chain. I don’t want to see that! I don’t think any kid should. Who, in their right mind, would want to see that???? I certainly do NOT want to meet those individuals.
4. Pinocchio
I haven’t watched Pinocchio in a long time. I don’t remember being disturbing, but from what the web site says about Pinocchio, it seems pretty creepy.
5. The Dark Crystal
WHAT?! I remember loving this movie when I was younger. Maybe its not for the squeemish children, but it is a good movie. It was one 0f my favorite movies when I was younger.
6. Watership Down
I have never heard of this movie. But apparently there is a bunny slaughter scene. Why would someone make an animated movie like that??
7. Casper the Friendly Ghost
Now, I saw this movie in the theatre. It is very sad, but I don’t think it’s disturbing.
